Balloon Artwork

Balloon Artwork printing area

For 1 colour balloon printing we accept balloon artwork as a jpeg or pdf high resolution file, for logos with more than 1 colour print we will require either an eps or ai file.
There’s only a certain amount of space available to print on a balloon. The approximate dimensions are 4.5″ x 4.5″. If your artwork has similar proportions to a square or circle it will cover more surface area on the balloon and appear bigger.

Black & White artwork is required even if your ink colour is not Black.
Example:
If you required the word ‘SALE’ printed in White ink we will need artwork with the word ‘SALE’ in Black.

Artwork that meets both maximum height and maximum width

This artwork fills the maximum height and width available on the balloon and so appears bigger. Artwork in square or round proportions work really well and result in a clear bold print. We print a maximum of 4 colours spread between 2 sides of the balloon.
i.e.
3 colours 1 side, 1 colour reverse
2 colours, 2 sides
4 colours 1 side etc.
If you have concerns as to whether your artwork is suitable email it to sales@balloon.com and we will advice.
Halftones – we can print half tones, please supply with minimum 300dpi.
If artwork is supplied in smaller dimensions than 4.5″ it may appear pixelated or fuzzy when we enlarge it to the required size, your balloons will printed whilst inflated so the artwork needs to fit on an inflated balloon.

Maximum width available

This example of a domain name meets the maximum width and so cannot be printed any bigger. To get around this problem and to make the domain clearer and bigger we suggest removing the ‘www’s.

Multicoloured balloon printing

If your logo is more than 1 colour we will need an eps or ai file so we can separate the colours. The balloons are printed whilst inflated so we cannot always print with close registration (colours touching each other on the balloon may move from 2 to 3mm).

Example below of how our limited width can affect the print size on the balloon – by changing the wording onto 2 lines everything appears bigger:
