Balloon Drop and Balloon Release

A balloon bomb is a 36" latex exploding balloon which is air-filled and consists of 90 x 5" latex and flutter confetti inside. It can be suspended above a dance floor and can be colour matched to the themed event. Held up by a balloon net, the bomb can be used to effect a balloon drop or balloon release, covering the dance floor or other surface with brightly coloured balloons.

The Balloon Bomb and the Exploding Balloon

The balloon bomb can be exploded in two different ways, either manually by using a wand or by pushing a button when the bomb has been wired to a firing box. An ideal explosion of colour on any dance floor - such a balloon release can really add spice to an event! An exploding balloon can add fun and surprise to a dance floor - many a balloon drop or balloon release has brought a night to a whole new level!

We are experts in the provision of the balloon bomb, and our balloon nets can hold a large number of balloons without any chance of early release. A balloon drop or balloon bomb is a great way to leave your guests with a great memory - with our long history of balloon release, trust balloon.co.uk to get it right!

2 x 500 Balloon drops over swimming pool

These two balloon drops were simple enough to prep, but when it can to rigging them above the pool it did involve getting a little wet.

Olympic swimmer Karen Pickering performed a spectacular dive into the pool, swam 2 lengths & surfaced on a submerged podium in the centre of the pool as the balloons were released to stunning effect.

18 Exploding Balloons

We rigged 2 sets of 9 exploding balloons in 2 separate function rooms at the MOD in camberley Surrey.

Office Balloon Drop

2 x 400 balloon drops over office desks and coffee area.

1000 Balloon Drop

Hall 3 at the ICC is the perfect room for a balloon drop. Firstly it's has a great height and plenty of space with a bid dance floor. The technicians help us by dropping the ceiling sails, we can hand the drop without using any ladders.

2000 Balloon Drop

We've rigged 2 x 2000 balloon drops at the Apollo theatre in Victoria, London. Once the balloons are inflated and the net is filled it can be simply rigged by dropping 500lb kite line from the ceiling. We then simply pull it into place and again no ladders are required.

9 Exploding Balloons

Merry Hill shopping centre wanted a balloon drop for the opening of their new food hall. Unfortunately after a site survey we informed them that their ceiling was too low. It was likely that after the balloons dropped from a net, the net would hand at head height (balloon nets always hang lower when they are empty).

The ceiling area was perfect for these 9 exploding balloons - they created the desired WOW factor with a bang!

Exploding Balloon Key

Check out this exploding balloon sculpture key - we did this job about 15 years ago (1996), I was skiing at the time so I worked with Matthew Lewis Displays to get the job done whilst on holiday.
We had sellotape which was lined with gun powder and a few fuses.
The key was made with standard Alimumium Rod and we covered the rod with the Gun Powder Tape and attached the fuses.
The frame & balloons were set to fire after a professional golfer hit a ball through the hole in the key. We made a small mistake - attaching the key to the main frame with fishing line, which melted and dropped the frame slightly early.
It still looks cool even now.
